Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To perform identification of the content of the melted metal by detecting optically the absorpition spectrum of the content in a gas produced. CONSTITUTION:A light beam radiated from the melted metal 5 is passed through a gas layer 6 and a diffraction grating 1 and subjected there to spectral diffraction. The diffraction grating 1 is provided with a potentiometer 2 which is linked thereto and driven by a motor 3. The light beam through the diffraction grating 1 is transduced into an electric signal by a photoelectric transducing element 4. By the outputs of wind comparators 21, 22... whereon the output of the potentiometer 2 and two different reference voltages E1, E2... are impressed, sampling circuits 31, 32... sample the output of the photoelectric transducing element 4. Forefront-value detecting circuits 41A, 42A... and bottom-value detecting circuits 41B, 42B... detect the maximum and minimum values of the outputted samples, memorizing the same temporarily. The output of each couple is impressed on division circuits 51, 52... and led to indicators 61, 62..., respectively.
