Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain clear printing on the recording paper attached to a platen by the suction air by a method wherein a piston is provided in a hollow platen so that it can reciprocate freely there and a nonreturn value is fixed on a specific position of the platen. CONSTITUTION: The piston 6 is stored slidably in the hollow platen 1, wires 7 fixed on both ends of the piston are wound around pulleys 9 through bushes 8 and fixed to both sides of a carrier 3. A plurality of inlet ports 10, 11 are formed near both ends of the platen 1 on the outer periphery a little upward from parts on the platen 1 facing the point of the printer head 2. Outlet ports 12, 13 are formed at the diametrically opposite positions of the inlet ports on the outer periphery of the platen 1. When the piston 6 moves leftward, the air pressure reduces in the right space of the piston 6, the open air opens the nonreturn value 14 and is obserbed through the inlet port 11 to absorb the paper 16 and the air is exhausted through an outlet port 12 in the left space.
