Fuel tank for engine
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To prevent a separation of a mixed fuel of alcohol and gasoline by dividing a fuel tank by means of a partition into a volume variable fuel reservoir and a pressure regulating chamber communicated with the atmosphere. CONSTITUTION: The partition 4 constituted by a float 4a is disposed within a tank body 2 so as to define the fuel reservoir 2A which varies its volume corresponding to the amount of the mixed fuel 3 which remains in the fuel tank 2 and the pressure regulating chamber 2B communicated with the atmosphere. By this construction, the mixed fuel 3 within the fuel tank 2 is always shield on the surface by the partition 4 and therefore the contact area between the mixed fuel 3 and the atmosphere within the pressure regulating chamber 2B is remarkably reduced. Accordingly, the moisture mixing into the fuel due to the moisture absorbing characteristic of the alcohol can be properly controlled, thereby preventing the separation of the mixed fuel.
