Preparation of olefin polymer

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prepare a solid catalyst component having high activity and sharp particle size distribution, and excellent characteristics as slurry, and capable of freely controlling the molecular weight distribution of the produced polyolefin, by reacting a Ti compound with an organic Mg compound, and further reacting the reaction product with TiCl 4 . CONSTITUTION: A Ti compound of formula (R 1 is 1W20C hydrocarbon group; X is halogen; 0≤n≤4) is made to react with an organic Mg compound, and the reaction product is further reacted with TiCl 4 . When an olefin is (co)polymerized using a catalyst system comprizing the solid catalyst component obtained above and an organic Al compound, the produced polyolefin has broad molecular weight distribution and high melt fluidity, and is suitable for blow molding and film forming.
