Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To detect the existence of the seal correctly without necessitating a cooperating mechanism with a transferring mechanism by a method wherein the discrimination of an indicating area and the detection of the seal are effected by respective detectors arranged on the transferring path of a package box. CONSTITUTION: Three sets of photoelectric detectors S1, S2, S3 are arranged at required places on the transferring path of the package box, and the photoelectric detector S2 located at a place after the transferring direction of the package box 1 among them is for detecting a letter or a figure sealed in the indicating area N and the reflection type photoelectric detector is utilized. In case the detectors S1WS3 are arranged in such a manner, when the detector S1 detects the fore end of the package box 1, the detector S2 detects the fore end of an allowance range P in the indicating area N, and when the detector S3 detects the fore end of the package box 1, the detector S2 detects the aft end of the allowance range P. By only arranging the three detectors, the existence of the seal may be detected correctly regradless of the movement of the transferring mechanism for the objective article.
