Heat-sensitive printer
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To reduce rotational torque of a platen and smoothen feed of heat-sensitive paper by releasing the press of a thermal head against heat-sensitive paper or the like during paper feed operation conducted between printing on one line on the paper and printing on the next line. CONSTITUTION: With predetermined printing conducted by a thermal head 3 and with a new-line biginning instruction generated, a motor 8 is driven, a shaft 6 is rotated as shown by an arrow through gears 8 and 9, and a cam 7 and the like also start rotating. With the cam 7 rotated by a predetermined angle, a crank 1 is rotated in the direction of an arrow through a roller 5, and a crank shaft 2 rotates to raise the head 3, releasing the pressure applied to heat-sensitive paper 16. On the other hand, rotation of a cam 12 turns on a micro-switch 14 to rotate a pulse motor 23, and a platen shaft 18 is rotated through reduction gears 19, 20, 21 and 22 to securely feed a predetermined amount of the paper 16.
