Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To miniaturize a valve and make its installation feasible by mounting a bypass valve of ball shaped structure on the valve body of a main butterfly valve. CONSTITUTION: When the main valve 2 is opened, if bypass valve 5 is rotated by 90 degrees, the bypass valve 5 is opened and water upstream of the main valve 2 passes through the flow passage 7 of bypass valve 5, gradually running into the downstream side of main valve 2. Then water is filled in a vortex-type casing at the downstream side, eliminating a pressure difference between the both sides of the main valve 2. Due to the installation of bypass valve 5 on the main valve 2, separate piping for the bypass valve is no longer required and space for equipment arrangement is minimized.
