Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the wear of main bodies of leaf springs, by interposing thin sheets of carbon-fiber-reinforced synthetic resin or steel between at least longitudinal ends of the facing sides of a main leaf spring and auxiliary leaf springs of an overlapped leaf spring. CONSTITUTION:An overlapped leaf spring unit 1, which is attached to an automobile suspension by an ordinary method, comprises a main leaf spring 2 and a plurality of auxiliary leaf springs 3, 4. The main leaf spring 2 is made of steel or FRP so that round parts 5, 5 are provided on both the ends pf the spring. the auxiliary leaf springs 3, 4 are made of a synthetic resin reinforced by fiberglass or the like. Interposed pieces 6, 7 are provided on the tension sides of the auxiliary leaf springs 3, 4. The interposed pieces are made from shaped thin sheets of carbon fibers impregnated with an epoxy resin or the like or of steel.
