Ink jet recorder
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To dry an ink image effectively in a short time by a heater unit provided in a platen or recording paper-holding unit and used to heat a printed image simultaneously with the ejection of ink, whereby no special space for drying a printed image is required. CONSTITUTION:When ink is ejected from a nozzle in a recording head 10 against recording paper 4 wound around a platen 1, oscillations occur so that the ink is turned to particles 7. A charging voltage is applied between the nozzle and charging electrodes 9, and then an electric charge in proportion to the voltage occurs in the ink particles 7, which are subsequently deflected by deflecting electrodes 8. As a result, dots are printed on the recording paper 4. A heater unit 3 provided in the central portion of the platen 1 permits efficiently heating the recording paper 4 by its contact heat transfer effect. Thus, an ink dot image printed on the recording paper 4 is dried.
