Noise eliminating system for television signal

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To increase the S/N without impairing both the horizontal and vertical resolution by giving the amplitude limit to the difference component between the output obtained by delaying the TV signal for one horizontal scanning period and the signal with no delay given and then subtracting the output from the TV signal. CONSTITUTION: The TV signal is supplied to delay circuit 2w from input terminal 1 to be delayed for one horizontal scanning period, and the delay output and the TV signal input undergo the subtraction through subtractor circuit 3 to extract the difference component. The function of the output of circuit 3 forms the comb-line filter to the function (A) of the frequency of the supplied TV signal. For the output of circuit 3, the components of over the fixed level are extracted through amplitude limit circuit 4 and then applied to subtractor circuit 5 to receive the subtraction in the form of the difference component from the TV signal. For signal (C) obtained at output terminal 6, the noise component of a low level is negated completely. However, the larger level one among the edge parts of the TV signals is not negated, thus causing no reduction of the resolution. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
