Preparation of thermoplastic adhesive resin
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title resin with excellent retention of adhesive strength at a high temperature and mold ability by maleinizing a straight or a branched-chain block copolymer in a molten state in the presence of a radical generating agent and oxygen. CONSTITUTION: In a reaction of a straight or a branced-chain block copolymer of formula I or II or the mixture thereof [A is aromatic vinyl polymer block and the content of aromatic vinyl is 10W70wt% of total copolymer, B is a polymer comprising conjugated diene substantially, m is 1 or 2, n is an integer of 2W8. X is a polyfunctional binding agent residue bound at the terminal of B of (A-B) n type copolymer chain.] with 0.1W15pts.wt. of a maleic anhydride type compound in a molten state, the reaction is carried out in a molten state and in the presence of a radical generating agent by introducing oxygen at a concentration of 0.1W10ml (standard state) per 1g of a copolymer before or during the maleinizing reaction, to prepare a block copolymer modified thermoplastic adhesive resin.
