Polymerization of alpha-olefin
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: The polymerization of α-olefin is conducted in the presence of a catalyst system consisting of fine powdery violet solid titanium trichloride and an organoaluminum compound to produce α-olefin polymer with good stereo-regularity in high yield. CONSTITUTION: The polymerization of α-olefin is conducted in the presence of a catalyst system consisting of (A) finely powdery violet solid titanium trichloride precipitated by contacting a liquid resulting from the reductive treatment of titanium tetrachloride with an organoaluminum compound of formula II (R is 1W20C hydrocarbyl, n is 1W3, X is halogen atom) in the presence of an ether of formula I (R 1 , R 2 are alkyl, aralkyl of 5 or less carbon atoms), with a liberating agent at 40W150°C, and (B) an organoaluminum compound of formula III (R' is 1W3C alkyl). The ether used is., e.g., di-n-amyl ether, di-n-butyl ether. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
