Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To produce optical fiber aggregates rapidly and surely by spreading an optical fiber holding belt in endless form between a pair of rollers and cutting the optical fibers wound at the specified pitch thereon. CONSTITUTION: A holder 3 comprising thinly forming an adhesive layer 5 on a sheet 4 of plastics or metal material is spread in endless form between rollers 1a, 1b whose inter-shaft distance is adjustable. Next, the rollers 1a, 1b are turned and at the same time the rollers 2a, 2b are moved at each specified pitch in the axial direction of the rollers 1a, 1b, during which time optical fibers 6 are continuously wound and further when infrared ray radiation, etc. are made while the rollers 1a, 1b are being rotated, the optical fibers 6 are fixed at the specified pitch by the adhesive layer 5. When these optical fibers 6 are cut in the width direction of the holder 3, the optical fiber aggregates are produced rapidly and surely. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
