Recording ink

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prepare a recording ink for ink-jet printer, having excellent recording characteristics, storage stability, response, etc., by adding a hydrocarbon carbonate to a mixture of a liquid medium and a colorant. CONSTITUTION: A recording ink is prepared by adding about 99.5-5% (pref. 90-20%). based on the whole composition, of a hydrocarbon carbonate of formula I (R 1 , 2 are H, alkyl, alkenyl) or II (R 3 , 4 are alkylene), e.g. methyl ethyl carbonate, methyl i-butyl carbonate, ethylene carbonate, propylene carbonate, etc., to a solution (dispersion) obtained by dissolving (dispersing) a dye such as Orient Oil Black HBB (Orient Kagaku KK) or a pigment such as CdS in a liquid medium (alcohol, water, etc.).
