Water cooling system for engine of motor cycle

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To simplify piping and maintenance of water cooling system for a water- cooled V-type engine, by providing inlet ports and outlet ports of cooling water circulated in banks of the engine in the inside surfaces of respective banks. CONSTITUTION: Cooling-water passages are formed in banks 10, 11 of engine 9 and inlet ports 22 and outlet ports 23 of the cooling-water passages are opened in the inside surfaces of respective banks 10, 11. Further, in the vicinity of the bottom of the inside surfaces of banks 10, 11, pipes 24 for connecting a plurality of inlet ports 22 are disposed laterally of the vehicle body respectively and one end of each pipe 24 located on the side of pump 21 is connected to the outlet ports of the pump 21 via distribution pipe 25 and pipe 26. On the other hand, outlet ports 23 are connected to thermostat 28 via pipe 27. Inlet port 30 of radiator 29 is also connected to the thermostat 28 via pipe 31, whereas outlet port 32 of radiator 29 is disposed on the side of distribution pipe 25 and connected to the inlet port of pump 21 via pipe 33.
