Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a picture face of high brightness by employing large particle fluorescent member in the proximity of inner face of face plate while small particle fluorescent member at far section. CONSTITUTION: The fluorescent face 42 is formed with laminated layer of large particle fluorescent member layer 421 in the proximity of inner face of face plate 41 and small particle fluorescent member layer 422 at far section. Since the metal back layer 43 is coated over small particle fluorescent member, smooth face having no pin-hole or crack is obtained. Optical scattering and reflection of small particle layer 422 are higher than these of large particle layer 421, thereby when large particle layer 421 emits light due to electron beam 45 the light directing toward metal back layer is reflected at the surface of fluorescent member of small particle layer 422 then discharged to the outside, thus causes no reflection due to metal back layer 43 having reflection loss resulting in a picture image having high relative brightness.
