Steel pipe centering and marking-off tool

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To automatically center a steel pipe so that a circle may be easily drawn with respect to a rough end by turning a screw rod and by bringing a fixing jig into abutment contact with the inner side of the steel pipe thereby to fix the tool. CONSTITUTION: If a handle 20 is turned, a screw rod 5 is turned, while being supported on a bearing body 6, and a screw cylinder 13 is moved in the direction of a bearing 4. Arms 9 and 16 expand a plate 41 through a supporting member 39 and force the same into contact with the inner wall of a steel pipe 1. Then, the rod 5 is fixed in alignment with the pipe 1. Then, a bearing body 22 is fixed to the rod 5 under the condition in which a marking-off pin 28 is in contact with the end of the pipe 1. A screw 32 is fastened to fix a compass 29. After that, if the compass 29 is turned, a circle can be drawn about the center of the pipe 1 at the end of the pipe 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
