Automobile fuel consumption controller

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To automatically make a saving of fuel, by providing a processing unit for making a comparison between actually traveling fuel consumption quantity and reference fuel consumption quantity. CONSTITUTION: With a vehicle speed V detected by a speed sensor 17 coupled to a speedometer 16, the standard fuel consumption F s at the vehicle speed V is readout as an address information for the vehicle speed V from a memory circuit. On the other hand, in case of an electronic fuel injection type, a fuel injection command pulse is directly detected by a pulse width detector 13. The value obtained by a fuel consumption value conversion unit 14 is compared with an actually traveling fuel consumption FA and the atandard fuel consumption Fs, readout from 18, by a comparator 15, and if FA>F s , a pulse width, dtected by the pulse width detector 13, is made setting to a timer 19, with this value being E, a reference pulse width P is considered for operating the suppression of fuel consumption, and the timer 19 operates till the pulse width to become E-P is obtained.
