Production of polarizing plate

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To save predrying and produce the polarizing plate in a short time by laminating a polarizing film and transparent substrates by way of an ultraviolet curing adhesive agent and radiating ultraviolet rays thereto to set the adhesive agent. CONSTITUTION: The composition comprising compounding a photo-polymerization initiator which performs curing reaction by light of about 250W700mμ in wavelength (e.g., benzoin, benzyl, etc.) at about 0.1W5wt% to a compound having polymerizable unsaturated groups (preferably a compound having polymerizable unsaturated groups and isocyanate groups in combination) is used as the adhesive agent. The abovementioned adhesive agent is coated on both surfaces of a polarizing film such as of iodinepolyvinyl alcohol base and the substrates composed of sheets of transparent plastics (e.g., cellulose triacetate) ar affixed on both sides thereof and are compression-bonded, after which ultraviolet rays are radiated thereto to allow the adhesive agent to set.
