Plasma arc welding unit

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a marked welding unit which provides efficient removal of moisture sticking at the time of replacement of a worn component by connecting a supply pipe for welding gas and compressed air in parallel to the gas supply intake of a plasma torch for switching supply. CONSTITUTION: In parallel to plasma gas intake 11, supply pipe 13 for welding gas and compressed-air supply pipe 14 lain in a factory are connected through solenoids 15 and 16 respectively. Moisture flowing out at the time of the component replacement of a restraint nozzle, etc., and sticking to an electrode, insulation guide, etc., can be removed easily and economically be feeding much compressed air into the torch with solenoid 15 open. Therefore, troubles such as the error ignition of pilot are, abnormal wear of the electrode and insulation deterioration of the insulation guide due to sticking moisture can be eliminated.
