Shape control method of strip

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To simplify shape control system by using intermediate roll and roll bending adjusting devices as the operating end for adjusting the symmetrical shape defects with respect to the center of the strip width direction and using the screw- down devices only for adjusting the non-symmetrical shape defects. CONSTITUTION: In performing shape controlling of the steel plate under rolling while moving the intermediate roll in the barrel axis direction, the parameter A indicating the strip shape in the width direction is divided to the two components being symmetrical to the center of the plate width direction and the two components being non-symmetrical. In the former, the change quantity of A is given as the sum of the components proportional to the respective change quantities of roll bending pressure Q and intermediate roll position δ and the forecasting calculation of A at the control operation of the next time by correcting these four proportional coefficients necessary for calculation at each control operation. The same holds true of the latter, whereby adequate copying with the changes of rolling conditions may be accomplished. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
