Blood calcium detecting composite and testing member
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To make it possible to detect the blood Ca of a milch cow simply and promptly even in any place in order to inspect the unstandable disease after a child-birth by using a special composite composed of o-Cresolphtalein Complexon. CONSTITUTION: 10 to 20 parts of a buffering agent, which is adjusted to have a pH 8 to 13, and 0.01 to 0.2 parts of amino polycarbonate are dissolved in 100 to 150 parts of distilled water thereby to prepare a I liquid. Then, 0.1 to 0.5 parts of o-Cresolphthalein Complexon OCP is dissolved in 100 to 150 parts of alcohol being heated, thereby to prepare a II liquid. At first, a suitable absorbing carrier is completely dipped in the I liquid and is drived after its excess liquid is shaken off. After that, the absorbing carrier is completely dipped in the II liquid and is likewise dried. The color intensity of a soluble complex of purplish color, which is produced by having Ca reacting with the OCPC in the presence of alkali, with the use of the testing member prepared in the above manner is compared with a reference color table which has been prepared in advance.
