Automotive body structure for vehicle
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To improve the strength rigidity of an automotive body for a vehicle by improving the connecting portion of a center pillar to a side sill as a box-like sectional member. CONSTITUTION: An outer plate 1a and an inner plate 1b are faced oppositely to each other, and connecting flange 1c is spot welded to form a box-like sectional center pillar 1. Then the superimposed portion of the lower outer and inner plates 1a and 1b at the lower recess end 1e are made contact with the outer surface of a side sill outer 2a. Then, the members 1a, 1b and side sill outer 2a are superimposed in three laminate and spot welded at W 1 . After the center pillar 1 is connected at the lower end to the side sill outer 2a, a side sill inner 2b is faced with the inside of the outer 2a, and spot welded to thus spot weld the connected flange 2c at the position W 2 to thereby complete the connecting assembly. In this case, the flange 2c' of the side sill 2 is exposed with the inside of the automotive room via the recess 1d of the center pellar exclusion for free welding. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
