Alternating current voltage adjusting unit

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To make an AC voltage waveform into a chopped waveform to obtain an output having small higher harmonic components by controlling turning-on and off by an AC switch which is inserted in series to each phase of an AC circuit. CONSTITUTION:AC input voltage v1 is turned on and off with a frequency higher than the frequency of the AC input voltage by transistor 2 as a switching element which is inserted in series to each phase through full-wave rectifier circuit 1 of a diode bridge, thereby obtaining AC output voltage v2. Since this voltage v2 becomes the voltage of the chopped waveform shown in figure (2), a variable output having small higher harmonic components and large fundamental wave components can be obtained.
