Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To reduce a thickness of a liquid film as much as possible and obtain a heat conductive surface for condensation having big heat conductivity by arranging members having a copillery action on the heat conductive surface of a wall at a proper distance. CONSTITUTION: Members 3 having capillery action are arranged at a proper distance on a surface of a wall kept in low temperature. When steam of high temperature is blown against the wall 1, the steam is condensed into liquid 2 and most of the liquid 2 is absorbed by the capillery action of the capillery members 3 upon dropping. Therefore, a film of the liquid 2 on the surface 1 of the wall becomes very thin. Contacting surface between the steam and the capillery members 3 is wide enough because of the porosity of the members 3, therefore, actual heat conducting area becomes wide and separation of the liquid from the wall is improved, thereby, heat conductivity due to the condensing way be improved remarkably. Metallic screen, felt, sintered metals or the like is utilized as the material of the capillery member 3. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
