Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To perform high efficiency cleaning, by providing a flexible cleaning blade which abuts against the image carrier surface, and a suction means of which suction opening end is close to the image carrier surface, froming suction air stream in the vicinity of the abutting part to the flexible cleaning blade. CONSTITUTION: A flexible cleaning blade 6 is provided so as to abut against a drum-shaped image carrier surface 2. This flexible cleaning blade 6 consists of an end tip 7 and a supporting plate 8. On the other hand, a suction hole hood 9 is disposed in a way to surround the flexible cleaning blade. A suction hood end member 20 is fitted to the front face of this hood, i. e. in the vicinity of the part where the abutting end of the flexible cheaning blade produces the cleaning action.
