Atomized fuel supply apparatus for internal combustion engine
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To enable perfect combustion and prevent air polution with fuel in the form of a liquid film being efficiently collected and reliably atomized by using a supersonic oscillator consisting of a hollow cylindrical body. CONSTITUTION: A supersonic oscillator 8 of a supersonic generator 16 is coaxially provided in a central portion of an intake manifold 3 upstream a portion where a branch tube 33 joins and slightly downstream a fuel collector 22. The fuel collector 22 has a flow path 25 terminating in a small-diameter discharge port 24, which is smaller in diameter than the supersonic oscillator 8 consisting of a hollow cylindrical body and is coaxial with and held spaced apart a predetermined distance from the inner wall 14b of the supersonic oscillator 8. The fuel collector 22 serves to collect supplied fuel flowing down in the form of a liquid film along an intake tube 6 and a throttle valve 2 on its intake side 23, while on its discharge side 24 it supplys the collected fuel in the form of a liquid film to the inner wall 14b of the hollow cylindrical body of the supersonic oscillator 8.
