Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To exactly operate a power supply without power loss at normal time and certainly at abnormal time by providing a detecting winding magnetically coupled with the coil of a switching loss reducing circuit to operate an overcurrent protecting circuit by the output of the reducing circuit. CONSTITUTION: A swtiching loss reducing circuit 10 connected with a diode 12 and a resistor 13 to a coil 11 as an inductance component is provided between the transformer 2 and the power supply 8 of a DC-DC converter containing a transistor 1 and a converter transformer 2, and a coil 14 magnetically coupled with the coil 11 is connected to an overcurrent protecting circuit 4. Thus, it can reduce the loss occured when a transistor 1 is shifted from shut off state to conducted state, and the voltage corresponding to the collector current of the transistor 1 can be produced at the coil 14 without almost power loss to thereby exactly protect the power supply against excessive current.
