Rotor for rotary electric machine
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To smoothly conduct the induced current of a rotor in its circumferential direction, by providing grooves of trapezoidal cross section in the slots of the rotor and tightly fitting damper bars in the grooves. CONSTITUTION: The groove of trapezoidal cross section are provided in the slots 9. The top of each groove is shorter than its bottom. The grooves extend in the axial direction of the rotor. The damper bars 12 of the same trapezoidal cross section are tightly fitted in the grooves. When the rotor is rotating, the damper bar 12 is thrusted in the radial direction of the rotor by the centrifugal force and the shoulders 12d of the damper bar keep good contact with the walls of the slot. Therefore, the induced current which flows in the circumferential direction of the rotor is smoothly divided into a part ic flowing through a slot wedge 4 and another part id flowing through the damper bar 12. The electrolytic corrosion of the damper bars 12 and the deterioration of insulators are thus prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
