Capacitor device for improving higher-harmonic characteristic and power-factor of thyristor converter

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prevent the required power capacity of filters from being increased due to higher harmonics, by apropriately distributing the capacitance of a phase-advancing capacitor and the filters. CONSTITUTION: The capacitance of the fifth, seventh and eleventh filters and the phase-advancing capacitor is distributed at 20% or more, 10% or more, 4% or more and 5.6% or less, respectively. The sharp increase in the required power capacity is thus prevented. The share of the cheap phase-advancing capacitor is augmented. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
