Explosive tube for expanding pipe

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prevent corrosion of the internal surface of a pipe after it has been expanded by coating viscoelastic substances other than viscoelastic chloride on an explosive tube for expanding pipes by explosion and by enclosing corrosion inhibitor in a tube. CONSTITUTION: The explosives 2 in the center are sprayed by corrosion inhibitor on their external circumference, coated by a tube composed of a viscoelastic substance other than viscoelastic chloride and a detonator 4 is arranged in parallel with the explosives 2. By this structure, when the pipe is expanded by explosion, a corrosion inhibitor 6 adheres to the internal surface of the tube, makes a film layer on the metallic surface, changes the internal surface of the tube into passive state, prevents melted oxygeon from approaching and protects corrosion by combustion gas or dusts. Chromate polyphosphate, sodium nitrate, long chain amine organic substance are used as the corrosion inhibitors. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
