Radiographic image conversion method
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To provide a practical means for the radiographic image conversion having remarkably improved sensitivity, by the use of a specific accelerated phosphorescent material. CONSTITUTION:Radiation transmitted through an object is absorbed with (A) Cu and Pb-activated ZnS fluorescent material (ZnS:Cu,Pb), (B) Eu-activated Ba- aluminate fluorescent material (BaO.xAl2O3:Eu) and/or (C) alkaline earth metal silicate fluorescent material MIIO.xSiO2:A, wherein A is Ce, Tb, Eu, Tm, Pb, Tl, Bi, and/or Mn). The fluorescent materials are excited with electromagnetic wave having a wave length of >=500nm, and the energy stored in the fluorescent material is emitted as fluorescent light. The amount of the activating material in the fluorescent material is pref. 10<-6>-5X10<-3> gram-atom.
