Roll for magnetic transfer

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an excellent transfer image free from unevenness, without causing toner drift and stripe pattern forming, by providing an elastic body layer to the roll shaft and next a magnetic body layer containing magnetic powder, using resin as binder, and magnetizing the magnetic body layer in AC. CONSTITUTION: As the binder for a magnetic body layer 1, a resin is used, selecting at least one kind from three groups, which are single polymer I of styrene, (meth) acrylate, acrylonitrile; or copolymer II thereof with vinyl chloride or vinyl acetate; and silicone resin III. The magnetic body layer 1 containing the binder and magnetic powder 2 selected at least one kind from γ-Fe 2 O 3 , CrO 2 , Co modified Fe 2 O 4 is provided on a heat-shrinkable tubing (polyethylene) 8 which covers the surface of an elastic cylinder 3 of polyurethane or the like around a shaft 4. The layer 3 is magnetized by a magnetic head 5 so that the magnetic powder 2 may become an alternating magnetization pattern 6. As a result, excellent contact is realized by the magnetic body layer 3, and the magnetic body layer 1 does not crack in use for a long period, so that stable transfer may be performed.
