Surplus length treating method of optical fiber
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To treat surplus length without increasing transmission losses by putting the surplus length of fiber core into a bas having flexibility, forming this to a circular or elliptic loop and rounding the loop and putting the same into a cylindrical case. CONSTITUTION:The loop 122 made by the surplus length of a fiber core 120 is put into a treating bag 10 made of longitudinally long material having flexibility and this bag 10 is put into a case 20. The case consists of an upper piece 24 and a lower piece 22 which are fixed by means of adhesive agents or the like after the bag is rounded and contained therein. This makes it possible to put the surplus length of the core 120 produced near the connection point 140 of the fiber core 120 orderly into the narrow space while keeping the increase in transmission loss within the specified value.
