Reproducer for video signal

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To perform the conversion of the length of scanning locus for one field's share of the rotary head and the tape scanning speed at reproduction into the reproduced video signal of high quality to the video signal recorded with a given ratio respectively. CONSTITUTION: The rotary head drum 9 providing the rotary heads 8a and 8b opposingly is directly coupled with the DC motor 10 and it is driven. In this case, the tape in which the video signal of the field frequency f 1 and of the horizontal scanning number of lines N 1 in one field is recorded with the rotary head in the track tilt to the lengthwise of tape fed in the speed S 1 at recording, is reproduced by selecting the tape running speed S 2 and the head rotary speed so that the scanning locus length l 2 for one field's share of the rotary head at reproduction can be S 2 =F 2 /F 1 S 1 and l 2 =N 2 /N 1 l 1 . Thus, the recorded video signal is converted into the video signal of the horizontal scanning lines N 2 within one field and the field frequency F 2 with reproduction, allowing to obtain the reproduced video signal with high quality.
