Optical fiber cable

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To realize a cable which uses the optical fiber core structure of small loss change by filling a specific buffer layer, waterproof intimate mixture or oil between the buffer layer covering an optical fiber strand and the inside wall of a pipe form protection covering body. CONSTITUTION: An optical fiber strand 1 is covered with a covering layer 4 such as silicone resin and further inserted into a protecting covering body 3 such as plastic pipe. Thereafter a buffer layer, waterproof intimate mixture or oils of smaller hardness than layer 4, e.g., silicone oil 2, is filled between the inside wall of the covering body 3 and the layer 4.
