Improved polymerization of olefin
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: The polymerization of an olefin is conducted in the presence of a catalyst containing a compound prepared by contacting a titanium compound with a product from an electron donor and magnesium dihalide to produce polymers with good mechanical properties and moldability. CONSTITUTION: The homo- or copolymerization of olefins are effected using a catalyst system prepared from (A) a catalyst compound obtained by contacting (1) a product from treating magnesium dihalide and an electron donor with a tetravalent titanium compound containing at least one halogen atom or by contacting above titanium compound with an electron donor, (B) an organoaluminum compound, (C) an organic carboxylate ester, and (D) a compound of M-O-R (M is an element selected from groups IA, IIA and IIB in the periodic table; R is H or hydrocarbyl) or the compound and/or oxygen.
