Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To provide a system capable of detecting the approximate steering direction of vehicle promptly, in which wheel angle detecting means are provided respectively for steering wheels and steering handle, and there is provided an indication section including elements which are turned concentrically but independently from each other for indicating the steering direction of wheels. CONSTITUTION: Potentiometers 6, 7 are provided respectively for steering wheels 2 and steering handle 4 so as to detect the steering angle of the wheels 2. In the section for indicating steering direction of vehicle, there are provided needles 8, 9 that are turned independently from each other, so as to indicate directions corresponding to the angle of steering wheels 2 and steering handle 4. A signal of steering angle supplied from potentiometer 6 and a signal of the angle of needle 8 supplied from potentiometer 13 are added at addition point 20, and motor 12 is driven such that deviation between these two signals becomes zero. Siminlarly, signals from potentiometers 7, 15 are added at addition point 21, and motor 14 is driven in the same way. Approximate steering direction of vehicle 1 is indicated by the shape of needles 8,9. COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
