Improved molded catalyst for purification of nitrogen oxides
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To provide the title catalyst the wear of which due to dust in exhaust gas can be minimized by attaching and supporting a molten catalytically active substance on the end of NOx purification catalyst facing to the gas flow direction of the gas inlet side contact part. CONSTITUTION: A molten metal component with denitration catalytic activity is supported on the end of catalyst molded into a dust flowable shape to a depth of 2W20 mm from the tip of the end to the central part. The molded catalyst may be, e.g. cylindrical catalyst consisting of a TiO 2 -SiO 2 composite material and V 2 O 5 as a catalytically active component. The end of the molded catalyst is dipped in molten ammonium metavanadate to obtain the desired molded catalyst supporting V 2 O 5 on its end. The catalytically active metal component includes W, Mo, Cu, Fe, Cr, Mn, etc. besides V. COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
