Inspection method for computer mounted on vehicle

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To inspect a standard program and a control program by collating them with other, by preparing the standard program for the control program of a computer mounted on a vehicle and selecting a check type according to the presence of engine operation. CONSTITUTION:At an inspection time, inspecting computer 13 outside the vehicle is connected through connector 12 to transmit the control program of ROM6 to inspecting computer 13. During the engine operating, the arithmetic processing routine for ignition timing and fuel jetting quantity is repeated synchronously with engine rotation. In case of engine stop, the inspecting computer stops CPU 1 of the comupter mounted on the vehicle to read out successively data of ROM6, and check data dependent upon the inspecting computer is displayed on display 10 similarly to the engine operating time.
