Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To enable dichromatic display to be readily performed by laminating two sets of liquid crystal display cells disposed with polarizing plates having polarizing abilities in respectively different wavelength regions. CONSTITUTION: A first polarizing plate 2a which has polarization ability in a first wavelength region, e.g., specific wavelength region of visible rays is fixed to the front side of a first liquid crystal display cell 1a by an adhesive agent 3. One side of a second polarizing plate 2b having polarization ability in the second wavelength region differing from the polarizing wavelength region of the plate 2a is fixed to the cell 1a and other side to the second liquid crystal display cell 1b, respectively by means of adhesive agents 3. A reflection polarizing plate 4 composed of a polarizing plate and a reflector such as Al plate is fixed to the rear side of the cell 1b by an adhesive agent 3. Then, if only the cell 1a is actuated, the color formed according to the plate 2a is displayed and by an adhesive agent 3. Then, if only the cell 1b is actuated, the color complying with the relation between the plate 2b and the plate 2a existing on the front thereof is displayed COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
