Rotation detector

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To detect the number of revolutions and rotating angles of a rotator with a simple construction and with good accuracy by providing a magnetism detecting element which is so fixed as to detect magnetic fluxes. CONSTITUTION: When there is a non-magnetic material 2a between a magnet 4 and a magnetism detecting element 5, the magnetism detecting element 5 produces its output. When the non-magnetism matirial does not exist between the magnet 4 and magnetism detecting element 5 and between both is shielded by a magnetic material, then the magnetic flux of the magnet 4 does not arrive at the magnetism detecting element 5 owing to the shield effect of the magnetic material, hence this element does not produce any output. As a disc 2 rotates, the configuration between the magnetic material and the non-magnetic material moves and therefore the magnetism detecting element 5 produces the outputs equal to the times of the passage of the non-magnetic material 2a, from which the number of revolutions and rotating angles of the rotator may be known COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
