Polyester composition

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a polyester composition capable of giving cured articles having improved weatherability, resistance to chemicals and heat, and dimensional stability through simple crosslinking treatment, by adding an aromatic compound expressed by a specific structural formula to a polyester. CONSTITUTION: (A) A polyester consisting of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, e.g. terephthalic acid, etc. as a main acid component is incorporated with (B) 0.1W50 wt.%, preferably 0.5W20 wt.% of a compound, preferably hexamethylene bis (benzoylbenzamide), expressed by formula I: (n is 1 or 2; m is 2W4 when n is 1, and 1 when n is 2; l is 0 or 1; one of R 1 and R 2 is aromatic residue, the other is aromatic, aliphatic, or alicyclic residue, and R 1 may be bonded to R 2 ; X is O, S, SO 2 , di-or polyfunctional organic group).
