Multi-line control unit

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To increase the processing ability of the terminal control unit, by connecting the physical number of connecting lines more than the maximum logical connecting line number to the termianl control unit and sharing the polling right to the communication lines. CONSTITUTION: The terminal control unit 1 receives the data from the terminal unit 6 connected to the communication line 5 in multi-drop type, via the multiline control unit 8, line connection unit 3, and MODEM 4, and performs the check code conversion of the reception data and format conversion, and transmits the edit data to the central system 10 voa the data exchanger 9. Further, the data received from the unit 6 is fed to the drum 11, magnetic tape 12, and line printer 13. Although the quantative effect due to simulation is shown in the plotting, by taking the average terminal waiting time T as parameter, the y axis as the processing rate and the x axis as the physical number of connecting lines, and it can be known from the result that the physical number of connecting lines which is 1.5 times the maximum logical connecting line number can effectively be connected COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
