Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To achieve the prevention of the occurrence of ground fogs and the stabilization of picture quality at the same instant by holding the spacing between electrostatic image holding face and developer carrier small by a spacing holding member. CONSTITUTION: A spacing holding member 8 which maintains the spacing between the photosensitive drum 4 surface and the sleeve 1 surface at 50μ to 500μ is provided at both end parts, off the developing region extending in the drum axis direction, of the opening part 5a of the developing device housing 5 which is pivotally supported to an axis 6 and is energized by a spring 7 to the photosensitive drum 4 side. The toner deposited on the sleeve 1 erects and grows in the image part of the electrostatic image holding face and makes direct contact with the electrostatic image holding face to perform developing, whereby the toner quantity flying in the developing spacing is reduced and the sensible image of stable picture quality free from ground fogs may be obtained COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
