Manufacture of resin laminate
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a resin laminate usable for food containers having improved oil resistance, gas barrier properties, and strength, by melt coextrusion of polystyrene resin with a gas-barrier resin via a specific adhesine resin placed between them. CONSTITUTION: (A) A polystyrene resin selected from high-impact polystyrene, ABS resins, etc. is melt coextruded with (B) a gas-barrier resin selected from saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, polyamide, vinylidene chloride, and thermoplastic polyamide resins via (C) an adhesive resin selected from a modified ethylene- vinylacetate copolymer obtained by grafting 0.001W10wt% of an unsaturated carboxylic acid, e.g. acrylic acid onto an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer with a melt index of 0.5W20 and a vinyl acetate content of 6W70wt% or an ionomer placed between (A) and (B) to give the desired laminate.
