Optical comb type filter

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To make a color TV image pickup unit of high performance and low cost by using an optical comb type filter which emits normal light and extraordinary light of an approximately equal quantity of light even if incident light is linearly polarized light. CONSTITUTION: The disposition of a phase plate PP through which incident light becomes light showing a certain deviation when it goes out therefrom, in front of the incident face 1 side of light of an optical comb type filter element PC 1 composed of a flat plate of transparent anisotropic material provided with double refraction characterisrics enables the light entering the optical comb type filter element PC 1 via the phase plate PP to be made in the state of an approximately equal quantity of light in the normal light and extraordinary light being emitted even if the incident light L is the linearly polarized light such as the light having transmitted through, e.g., a semi-transparent mirror or the light having been reflected by the semi-transparent mirror or even if the reflected light from the subject being the target of image pick-up with a color image pick-up unit shows a specific deviation COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
