Abnormality detector of electrical machinery and apparatus
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To achieve the stabilization of detecting operation and concentration of monitoring by sealing a gas being an insulation medium in a case and causing physical change by using the secondary product owing to abnormal discharge of the gas. CONSTITUTION: A high voltage conductor is contained in a metal ground case 1 and a SF 6 gas 3 is filled as an insulation medium therein. Protrusions 1A are formed in required positions and a detector 4 is provided in each of these. When abnormal discharge takes place in the case 1, the SF 6 gas is decomposed to produce active material which will then impinges upon the metal palladium plate 41 of the device 4 and the mixture 45 of zinc and copper sulfate. As a result, hydrogen gas is evolved and by absorbing this the plate 41 expands. This is then detected by a strain detecting element 42, whereby the presence of abnormality in the case 1 is detected.
