Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To reduce the error assuredly for the money paying with the electronic cash register containing a timing circuit by setting up the operation possible time to the specified key and then making invalid the operation of the specified key at the time except for the above set time. CONSTITUTION: The cash register contains key input part 25, display part 26, print part 27, I/O port 24, CPU21, memory circuit 22 and timing circuit 23 respectively. Specified key 13f is provided to circuit 22 to set the date data given from part 25, and start time ST 1 and end time ST 2 showing the operation possible time band designated by key 13f are memorized in circut 22. When key 13f is operated, the function is selected by CPU21 to read out the current time through circuit 23 as well as time ST 1 and ST 2 set to circuit 22. And coincidence circuit 75 decides whether the current time is within the operation possible time or not. Thus, the process corresponding to the key input is carried out in case the current time is within the operation possible time band; while the key input is made invalid in case the current time is outside the operation possible time band.
