Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To connect multiple pairs of optical fiber bundles for a short time, at a low loss and with high reproducibility by aligning opposed optical fibers in high accuracy and by irradiating the portions to be connected with the heat of a CO2 laser under the condition applying a suitable abutting pressure to the end portions of the pairs to be connected.
